Please make yourself aware of the Town services for brush collection, recycling services, rubbish removal, and scrap metal disposal. Each has specific issues such as collection schedule and other considerations.
Cicero Highway Department 2024 Brush Schedule
Brush includes: grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs, and shrubs. No dirt. Tree limbs must be smaller than 8″ in diameter and 6′ in length. Face cut ends toward the street.
TREE REMOVAL and LAND CLEARING DO NOT FALL WITHIN THE SCOPE OF CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION.
Brush: small Brush, small branches, leaves, grass clippings, mulch and rakings MUST be in Paper Bio-degradable bags only. No other containers will be accepted. The bags should not weigh more than 50 lbs.
Hired contractors must obtain a Town of Cicero permit and are responsible for their own debris removal.
Trash removal for the Town of Cicero is contracted to Superior Waste Removal, Inc. starting May 1, 2021. All questions or complaints will be handled by Superior Waste Removal, Inc.’s office. Their office hours are Monday-Friday 9am-4pm and may be reached at (315) 672-3174.
New construction residents must contact the Town Supervisor’s Office at 315-752-1180 ext. 334 to set up trash pickup. Trash day will depend on your address, you may contact the Supervisor’s Office to find out your collection day. Trash pickup is between 6am and 5pm. All the trash and recycling must be placed at the curb the night before or prior to 6am on your pickup day.
**Trash Collection Schedule will remain the same with Superior Waste Removal, Inc.**
Regularly scheduled trash collection will be delayed one day when the following holidays fall on a weekday. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Trash Pick-Up:
Trash must be in plastic bags and placed inside covered plastic or metal containers, not to exceed 50 pounds. There is a limit of 8 trash bags (up to 30 gallon in size). Trash bins are required for trash pickup in compliance with Section 177-12 of the Town Code. You may decide to purchase your own or you may rent from Superior Waste.
Superior Waste is obligated to pick up normal household waste only. Items that Superior Waste will NOT collect, as part of the contract, include: hazardous waste, wet paint, tires, batteries, furniture, TV’s, monitors, computers, construction material or debris (including deck/fencing material), motor vehicle or any part thereof, swimming pools (including liner or cover), outdoor statuary or similar decorations, central heating/AC units or components, any unit containing or has previously contained gas or oil, swing sets, slides, basketball units, or any similar children’s large recreational apparatus, and yard waste (including dog waste). Failure to comply may result in a Code Enforcement violation notice.

All recyclable materials must be placed in blue bins. Blue bins are available for Town of Cicero residents only at the Town Hall (8236 Brewerton Rd.) between 8am-4pm. Please contact the Town Supervisor’s office at 315-752-1180 ext. 334 for availability.
Please note that due to limited availability we are limited to providing ONE replacement blue bin per TOWN OF CICERO household. If you are in need of something larger than the blue bin we supply from OCRRA, you may purchase a trash container and visibly label it as your recyclable bin.
