To the residents of Cicero,
It is with great pleasure and pride to offer a written record of the 2019 Town of Cicero’ s Youth Bureau, Parks and Recreation Department Annual Report for your review. In this report each division of the department saw impressive advances in programming, participation and improvements to facilities in 2019. You will find statistics and data covering programs both sponsored by the department and those provided by our energetic Volunteer Partners.
The staff have embraced technology and social media platforms which have transformed our operations making them more efficient and easily accessible to you, the resident, 24-7. Programming is moving toward some wonderful arts and cultural activities while still preserving our athletics. Parks have seen improved accessibility to various amenities in the park system and many of our senior and teens are enjoying their respective “home away from home” facilities with friends at either the Cicero Senior Center or The CanTeen.
We are excited about the new year ahead of us to continue the great work for our community and tackle the challenges confronting us with a renewed vigor. On behalf of the entire Youth Bureau, Parks and Recreation staff and Parks and Recreation Commission, I would like to thank you for your support and positive feedback that keeps us moving forward.
