Chief of Police Advisory Council (CPAC)
CPAC is a group of Cicero residents who meet
monthly with the Chief of Police to advise on
areas where residents are concerned and to also
participate actively in improving communications
between the Cicero Police and Cicero residents.
Mission:
To work in concert with the Town of Cicero Chief of Police and residents of Cicero in
identifying and supporting opportunities to
improve community communications, enhance the
quality of service delivery and increase
involvement within the community, consistent with
community policing philosophies.
Community Policing Definition:
Community policing focuses on crime and social
disorder through the delivery of police services
that includes aspects of traditional law
enforcement, as well as prevention, problem-solving,
community engagement, and partnerships. The
community policing model balances reactive responses
to calls for service with proactive problem-solving
centered on the causes of crime and disorder.
Community policing requires police and citizens to
join together as partners in the course of both
identifying and effectively addressing these issues.
Activities:
Activities where CPAC participates include
providing advice on epolicing strategies, recommendations
for website content, participation and review of
police policies, recommendations for awards
to police officers and Cicero residents and active
involvement in community activities that promote
the Cicero Police department. More information can be found at the CPAC Home Page.
This council periodically has openings for new
members. If interested in joining, please send email to our
