Rabies Clinic
NYS Public Health Law requires that all puppies and kittens get their first rabies shot at 3 months old. They also need to get a booster shot at one year old and then again every three years. Ferrets must get a rabies shot every year.

Reminder For All Dog Owners:
Please have make sure all dogs are wearing a collar with identification, so the dog can be returned to its owner.

All dogs over the age of 4 months need to be licensed;  proof of rabies vaccination is required. A dog bone shape tag for the Town of Cicero  is given at the time of licensing. Please acquire this dog license at the Town Clerk’s Office, 315-699-8109.

The Town of Cicero shelter is Animal Kingdom (CNY Vet Services), 315-699-0375.

If you have lost your dog or have found a dog, please call the Town of Cicero Town Clerk’s Office at 315-699-8109.

Dog Control
New York State law now states all dogs four (4) months and older need to be licensed and renewed yearly. This can be done at the Cicero Town Clerk’s Office during business hours, at located at
8236 Brewerton Road,  Cicero, N.Y.
Current rabies certificate is required for all licenses.
Senior discounts available at age 65 and older.

The Town of Cicero does have a leash law ordinance which states all dogs shall remain on the owner’s property unless on a leash and under control.

Town of Cicero does have a “barking dog” ordinance stating that no dog shall be allowed to bark continuously for 10 minutes or intermittently for 30 minutes. Please be considerate of your neighbors.

All dog owners, please pick up after your dog.
The Town of Cicero is accepting photos of your pet, which will be displayed outside the Town Clerk’s Office on our pet bulletin board.

Please have proper identification on dogs collars so they will have a better chance to be returned to the owners before going to the animal shelter. Animal Shelter fees could range up to $160.00.

Inexpensive name and address tags can be purchased at various retailers in the Cicero area.

Dog License Renewal
Effective January 1, 2011, all dog licenses will be renewed through the Town of Cicero & not through NYS AG & Markets. The renewals will be mailed from the Town of Cicero with a new dog tag being issued once payment is received.

Directions to License Your Dog
1. Fill out the license application
2. Bring application and proof of rabies inoculation to the Cicero Town Clerk’s office, 8236 Brewerton Road, during business hours.
3. If your dog has been spayed, or neutered, please bring the certificate of proof.
4. The licensing cost for spayed or neutered dogs is $10.00.
5. For unspayed or unneutered dogs $18.00
6. Seniors 65 and older licensing cost for spayed or neutered dogs is $5.00.
7. Seniors 65 and older licensing cost for unspayed or unneutered dogs is $13.00.
