Bids for Brush, Grass, Rubbish and Weed Control
The successful Contractor will be directed by the Zoning & Planning Department (Code Enforcement) to cut, collect, remove and dispose of brush, grass, rubbish and weeds from properties and designated areas or to secure (board up first floor maximum height of 12 feet) various structures located within the corporate limits of the Town of Cicero. The work shall be performed Monday-Friday during daylight hours or on emergency 24/7 call, in a good and workmanship manner approved by the Town where applicable, the Onondaga County Department of Health and/or the State of New York within two (2) days of a request or immediate on emergency call made by the Planning & Zoning Department (Code Enforcement). All collections shall be disposed of by the Contractor at its own dumping place and at its own cost and expense.
In addition, the following terms and conditions apply:
A. Your attention is referred to certain laws and regulations as to Affirmative Action Requirements-Equal Employment Opportunity, and minimum wage requirements to be paid under any such contract with this municipality for such project, as well as safety and health programs and procedures required by Federal and State Law.
B. The Town of Cicero is exempt from New York State Sales and Compensating Use Taxes on materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work. Said taxes shall not be included in the quoted or contract prices.
C. Term of contract is on (1) year effective for the 2017 calendar year. Please quote an option the Town to extend contract for one (1) year.
D. The Town of Cicero reserves the right to reject or accept any proposals for any reason whatsoever in its sole discretion. This is not an invitation to bid, nor does law for this project require competitive bidding.
E. The Contractor shall supervise and direct the work, be solely responsible for the safety of all persons and property in and about the job site and for coordinating all portions of the work to maintain schedule and quality. The Contractor shall select the means and method of work. The Contractor’s relationship to the Town shall be that of an independent contractor.
F. If your proposal is acceptable, you will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance for coverage written by companies licensed to issue such insurance coverage in New York as set forth by Exhibit B.
G. Your written proposal must be received by 10:00 a.m. on March 1, 2017.
